Tammy is student at Patterson Park High School in Hairspray's fictionalized version of Baltimore, Maryland. She is also a council member on The Corny Collins Show on WYZT.
Tammy has shoulder-length brown hair that she wears in a bouffant.[1] She is often seen in floral print dresses.
During the roll call portion of "The Nicest Kids in Town", the opening number song for The Corny Collins Show, Tammy makes a "T" with her arms before bouncing away.[2]
Tammy is a good dancer and popular on The Corny Collins Show, as demonstrated by her ranking in the Miss Teenage Hairspray pageant. Towards the start of the 2007 film, she is in 3rd place behind Brenda and Amber respectively.[3] Before Tracy dances during the finale, Tammy is ranked 5th, though it is unknown how accurate that ranking is given that Velma was switching tallies during the pageant.[4]
Tammy appears in the 2007 film, Broadway musical, and 2016 live special. [5][6][7] She is not to be confused with the 1988 film's character Tammy Turner, who is an adult and the assistant to Corny Collins.
She is almost too happy almost like a psychopath.
